Awning Installation Guide
23 Jan 2025
Installing your awning is simple with the right tools and careful planning. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure proper assembly and installation.
Tools Needed
- Impact driver drill
- Measuring tape
- Level (3' recommended)
- ½" hex head impact driver
- T-30 impact bit
- Painter's tape (recommended for marking)
Step 1: Inspect and Unpack
Remove all parts from the shipping box and inspect them for any damages. A detailed list of parts and fasteners is included in the box.
For each awning:
- (2) Legs with tabs
- (1) Main roof frame
- (1) Top roof sheet
Step 2: Assemble the Frame
- Fasten the legs to the main roof frame using the existing pilot holes on the underside of the frame.
- Use the provided hex head self-tapping screws to secure the legs.
Step 3: Position and Attach the Frame
- Lift the awning frame into place and center it on the wall.
- Secure the frame to the wall using the triangular wall tabs on the back of the roof frame.
- Use the provided lag screws and ensure they hit studs for a strong hold.
- Use a level to make sure the frame is straight before screwing it in.
Tips:
- Mark the desired location on the wall with painter’s tape before lifting the frame into position.
- This helps save time and ensures proper leveling and centering.
- (2–3 people are recommended for this step.)
Step 4: Secure the Legs
Fasten the legs squarely to the wall using the provided lag screws. This locks the frame securely into place.
Step 5: Attach the Top Sheet
- Lift the top roof sheet onto the awning frame.
- Secure it to the frame using the hex head self-tapping screws.
Step 6: Final Check
- Use the level to ensure the awning is secured and visually aligned.
- If adjustments are needed, repeat from Step 3 to achieve the correct positioning.
