(Existing Jamb Install)

Installing your Steel & Stone double doors into an existing jamb is simple with the right tools and a step-by-step approach. Follow this guide to ensure a seamless and secure installation.

Tools Needed

• Level
• Impact drill with T-25 bit
• Multi-tool with wood-cutting blade

Step 1: Inspect the Components

Unbox all pieces and inspect them for any damages or broken glass. Address any concerns with our office before proceeding.

Step 2: Remove the Door Stop Trim

• Carefully remove the door stop trim (also known as the buck) from the inside of the door jamb.
• This will create the necessary space for the new door frame installation.

Step 3: Position the Frame

• Place the door frame in the opening, ensuring that the hinges are oriented correctly for the desired door swing direction.
• Use a level to check that the frame is plumb before proceeding.

Step 4: Secure the Frame

Using the provided lag screws and shims, secure the frame to the studs through the ½” pre-drilled holes while ensuring the frame remains level.

Step 5: Prepare the Hinges

• Slide brass spacers onto the male end of each hinge.
• Apply the provided lubricant to ensure smooth hinge action.

Step 6: Attach the Doors

Seat the doors onto the hinges. (This step requires two people for safety and precision.) Close the doors and adjust the frame as necessary to ensure proper alignment.

Step 7: Install Hole Plugs

Place the provided black hole plugs over the ½” holes and pop them into place.

Step 8: Install Magnets

• Attach the magnets to the top inside corners of the doors.
• Test the closure to ensure the magnets contact the frame and hold the doors securely closed.
